The chaparral biome is dominated by short woody plants, rather than grasses or tall trees.



Temperature:

Between 30 and 100 degrees Fahrenheit.

Vegetation:

Broad-leaved evergreen shrubs, bushes, and small trees.

Locations:

California, West Coast of South America, Cape Town, South Africa,
western tip of Australia, and the coastal Mediterranean.

Rainfall:

Moderate. Average yearly rainfall is between 20 and 30 inches per year.
